I began my journey as a therapist about 6 years ago, but my passion for helping people started way before this! I was a peer counsellor in school and have always been fascinated with the power of the mind and how our thinking influences our happiness. This interest led me to take part in numerous courses and to read lots of book to try to understand why we do what we do and how to overcome challenges. I've had my share of issues with self confidence, phobias and even had an eating disorder that plagued my early teen years. But now I feel like I'm in a pretty good place in my life and I want to share what I've learned and experienced with you! This includes invaluable lessons learnt from the work I've done with my clients. I find this field of work extremely rewarding and nothing makes me happier than knowing your life could be changed for the better through our work together.
I don't believe in a one size fits all approach. I like to meet you and understand what your issues and priorities are so we can come up with a plan that suits you best. I often suggest we use an integrated approach and a combination of techniques. To me it doesn't matter what the therapy is called, what matters is getting the results that you want (and in quickest amount of time, why not?!). I will always let you know what my thoughts are and make sure you feel good about the plan before we start. I am committed to providing an environment where you feel safe, comfortable and confident to express yourself knowing that you will be listened to objectively without being judged.
We all have more power than we realise to live the happy successful lives we want. Sometimes through our busy lives, stressful events, or past experiences, we get stuck in a rut and pick up unhelpful habits and ways of thinking. However, through identifying what is holding us back we can make positive changes. Through partnering with you on your journey of self-discovery we'll reach an understanding of what is holding you back and discuss ways to overcome this. Whether it be getting rid of fears and phobias, healing emotional wounds, or working through current conflicts happening in your life. Together we can reach that “breakthrough moment” when you understand what is holding you back and what plans you need to start putting into motion to ensure positive and lasting change. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or with an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your journey through life thereby living it more fully.
Therapy can provide a truly life changing experience and I look forward to helping you to achieve the future you are hoping for!
